My life has a deep relation with journeys. Some of the journeys are memorable, a few are worth to be forgotten. Some of them have an impact like this interface which keeps you and me together. You might be remembering that journey- journey to INS AGARANI, getting fired within a few hours and travelling back in Gurudev Express, meeting Jagadish uncle and Preethimol. Why did I give you a preface?....Guess....I am going for my next interview. Last time it was to Coimbatore; but this time, its a few more kilometres away - at Bhopal....Feel like laughing?...lol...There is a slight chance that a post named "Bhopal Disaster" is likely to appear in my blog. Well, now let me giveout my briefing....
Last time, i had a "suppli"which detained me from attending the interview. So this time i came to know about my results confidentially. shouldn't i tell u my marks?..67.42%. I was like Mr. Bean, wishing myself a "congratulation". Dad and mom were sitting like stock brokers during recession. Sister was hearing the news like Mukesh in "ramji rao speaking"..I said 67, she heard 77. I repeated, and she too. Only my brother in law gave a lol and conveyed heartfelt congrats to me. Later my sister again called me for the same. But friends, they are always with me. Whatever may the results be, they will be there to buy a treat from me. Now i have to get a hard copy to give it to the SSB. The next problem- unless the results are published University will not issue a provisional certificate. So only option left before me was to send a confidential marklist to the Selection board. That too should reach within 17 th of August, before 2.00 pm atleast, just before verifying my certificates. So this interview is like a rope walk where anything can happen. But i hope that i will be like an entertainer on the rope who will get a burst of applause; provided i am given a chance.
It took ony a sum of 8 rupees to travel from Aluva to Ettumanoor in a passenger train. The return journey in bus costed about 30 rupees. See the scale difference!...Once i reached the railway station, it was Unni who received me. He took me on our favourite RXG 135 to the university. The procedures are as complex as solving a Rubik's cube, and it remembered me about the movie "National Treasure"; one clue leads to another clue. While going on with the procedures, i was guided to counter one, where i found Devassia's mark list under progress. While i was having a look at the ledger book, one of the office staff asked me to stay away from the area. Bloody fool!...Any way i got my job done and was waiting with Unni outside the AD block. Meanwhile, a helicopter of The Indian Navy flew above me. While i was wondering, Unni told me that it was Prathibha Patil on her way to Kottayam. I took the photocopy of the "chelan" (pay in slip) as a proof for sending the confidential marklist. I had a wonderful day with Unni, as he has been a "BAKRAA" for a few days.
Preparations and packings are going well. Two and a half days' train journey is going to be a fresh experience for me. As i am going alone, i have taken few things with me. Books - DORK, Manorama Year book, Notes from SSB coaching centre, a rosary and a heart full of faith. I am a man of faith. As Gandhi said, "men often become what they believe themselves to be" and i have unknowingly started behaving like i got selected through this SSB. When my friend said that we needed to have a waterproof camera for trips to waterfalls, i said, i will buy it once i join the Navy. One of my friend in NIT told that she saw a bunch of ministers with enough police escorts in campus, i said to her that she was talking to an upcomming Navy officer. I will become. Now or then. Pray for me. I will be leaving on Aug 14 th 7.15 P.M.
Nb:- Someone(wildfalcon7) might say that i could have written much better than this. Let me have an excuse. When mind is full, words are few...I can't sleep tonight...As usual, the eve of every journey is a sleepless night for me.....
