Ignorance is bliss!....

We learn from mistakes. It may be a lesson worth for our life; may be a sign of caution, a stroke of encouragement, and what not?....Ever since i started this blog, i learnt a few words, phrases and even grammar. "Stall, nerd, few & a few, usage of ago and before,.....". Thanks to buttercup, jfreak, & spelling and grammar check...Today, i learnt a new word. Even though it is a very familiar word for me as well as for this generation,this narration may seem to u like "the lie of this century", this was the worst disaster that could ever happen in my life..........


My cell phone is just two years old. But whenever i look on the key pad, it reminds me of a 90 year old man without teeth. Few keys were knocked out, and no more print remains on their surface. College life taught me how to type text messages looking into the eyes of lecturers or even with my eyes closed. Sometimes during heavy chats on sms, the clicks on switches makes me feel that i am playing a new type of instrument. It was the most efficient gadget that helped me to stay in touch with my friends. Thanks to the technology. Miles have shrunk to few millimetres on a key pad....

These days, after my coaching classes, i used to chat with my friend.( from here onwards, chat means sms chat...Okey?..). It begins with my signature dialogue, or conversation starter, "Poooooyeee"...or "Koooooyeeeeeeee...." and finally i got a new nick name -Wolf...Who else howls like this?..We used to share about or day, plans, comment each other, or if not, we will talk on any subject under the sun. I love to chat with her, and admire the way she pull legs.

Today, after reaching home, i poked her with my "kooooooyeeeeeee." reply was sure shot, and we started chat.. Meanwhile she asked
"  wt r u doin?              "
"  guess wt!...               " i challenged..
"  mm...browsing?       "
"  nope...guess!..          "
"  Blogging?readng?. ."
"  Again. try...              "
"  COOKING?!....         "
"  No way!...lol            "
"  Watching TV?.         "
"  TV is always on       "
"...Hmm....cant get thro'. brk a leg "...
"  I was flirting!...easy peasy, Japaneasy   " was my reply....


A moment later, my phone beeped again..It was her sms.
" wat?..."
" yup. with u"...i waited for her reply..
" WTF?!...u idiot! ain't i supposed to be like ur sis?...How dare u!?...Shee!.."

WTF - that was the same sentence that came to my mind. Did i tell something wrong?...Flirt has got such a bad meaning?..Isn't it a meaningless chat to kill time?...I just thought- what if it has got a bad meaning? I rushed to my bookshelf and snatched the Oxford dictionary, and went for the effing word. ....flip flop, flipper, flipping, flip side, FLIRT. Got it!..."Flirt- Behave in a frivolously amorous or sexually enticing manner"..........lub dub..........lub dub....................lub dub.............................................lub...................dub...........................................................................................................................


I felt like my heart went dead....I felt like a had been stabbed on my heart a hundred times. I wished the world had come to an end with a blast, i wished i could go back to the moment i typed flirt on my text window, so that i can erase the word.....Nothing happened...I stood still...There was perfect silence which made me feel that even the world came to a halt hearing the story of my blunder. The only sound i heard then was the second needle ticking. One second seemed to be like one long year.....

Here and there, i have heard the term 'Flirt'. the first time i heard it, i tried to coin the meaning relating to the situation. A few of later instances also gave me the notion that what i had presumed to be the meaning of that word was correct. Sometimes we gather the word meaning like this, don't we?....For a few people like me, time misleads us to think that ignorance is a bliss. But when life proves that we were wrong- then its a disaster. I couldn't believe myself for being so foolish enough not to open the dictionary and find the meaning much before using it. Now which girl in this world is going to believe me if i say that i, a 21 years old engineer, was unaware of the word meaning of flirt? This was my next problem. I began to type my apology, but that too, read like the biggest lie even for me...All my image might have shattered in front of her. I might have hurt her feelings by opening my big mouth. Y don't these mobiles come up with dictionary like in MS office?...At least it could have prevented this disaster...


But it is not the quality of words, it is the purity of heart that speaks...She accepted my apology, better to say, she was more generous, to believe my statement. She might be probably reading this. I thank my good luck for yelling out my blunder to this sweet good friend...Or else just imagine my fate.......
